Great fun doing the escape room. Challenging but manageable. We did dream labs. Which is based around some of our favourite movies so made it even more fun. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great wee hour. Worth a wee visit.

Visited on 1st March for the 1st time. Kids enjoyed the retro video games, pool and darts. Will be back to try the VR and panic rooms. Staff super friendly and helpful too. Great value for money

I previously visited The Game Vault when it was based in the town centre and had a genuinely great experience. We played both the Dexter-themed room and The Heist, and thoroughly enjoyed them. The theming was immersive, the puzzles were clever without being frustrating and it was clear a lot of thought had gone into the overall experience. We left genuinely impressed and excited to return. Unfortunately, our recent visit to the new premises was a completely different story. From the moment we arrived, we were surprised at how unfinished everything felt. The building didn’t give the impression of a polished, ready-to-welcome venue — it genuinely felt like stepping into the middle of an ongoing building site. There were visible signs that work was still incomplete, which immediately took away from the sense of excitement and immersion you hope for when visiting an escape room. We then went on to play Bloodwood Cabin, and this is where the disappointment really set in. The room felt incredibly sparse — just a handful of pieces of furniture scattered around, some of which still had charity shop labels attached. Rather than feeling like a carefully designed, atmospheric cabin setting, it looked thrown together at the last minute with little attention to detail. For an escape room, where immersion and environment are half the experience, this was hugely underwhelming. As two very experienced escape room enthusiasts, we enjoy a challenge. We were told that only 12 teams had managed to escape, which initially made us excited to test ourselves. However, it quickly became clear that the difficulty wasn’t due to clever design — it was due to puzzles and clues that simply didn’t make sense. Several clues felt illogical or poorly structured, leaving us confused rather than engaged. A challenging room should make you think creatively; it shouldn’t make you question whether the solution is even rational. We left feeling frustrated rather than satisfied — and that’s not something we’ve felt often, even in rooms we haven’t escaped. It’s especially disappointing given how much we enjoyed the previous location and how much potential the company clearly has. At the moment, the new premises and this particular room feel rushed and unfinished, both physically and in design. And given it cost £50 for the 2 of us, it just felt like a complete and utter rip off. We genuinely hope improvements are made, because we’ve seen what this business is capable of — but sadly, this visit was a major let-down. 2 stars due to the staff always being lovely!
